Taster Classes: Hand Building or Wheel Throwing

The Taster Class "Wheel Throwing" offers a first glimpse into making pottery on the wheel. You will learn how to center the clay, open it up, and pull up the walls to create a small bowl or cylinder. The small group setting allows for a lot of guidance from our expert teacher.

You can choose two pieces that we will refine by trimming and glazing in the color of your choice, so everyone will be able to take finished products home.

In the "Hand Building" Taster Class you will learn 2 of the fundamental techniques when forming pieces by hand; coiling, and pinching. You may choose to create functional pieces such as mugs and plates, or/and realize any ideas you might have for sculptural pieces.

We will glaze 3 of your pieces in the color of your choice that you can collect at a later point.
