Hi! We are so glad you found us.

The Empire of Dirt is a community of like-minded people who enjoy being creative. We offer classes and workshops for adults and kids, but also a space for members who want to work freely on their ceramic projects, whether on the wheel or in hand building.

We came to life in 2024, when Kerstin and Julia decided that Berlin needed a ceramics space that provided access for hobby potters of all levels. Too often, we heard from people who were discouraged joining a studio because they felt they weren't "advanced enough" or simply didn't want to pay a pricey monthly fee if they weren't using the space nearly enough to justify the expense. So we decided to open up a pottery studio that makes it possible for everyone to get their hands dirty and enjoy the magic of creating with clay, no matter their age, level of expertise, or time commitment!

The Empire of Dirt continuously strives to be the best studio we can be, by adding additional workshops, school holiday classes, or membership options, and adjusting where we need to. Suggestions and feedback are always welcome.
